I have been contacted a few times, from various members, about an issue, regarding the video (Space Alone), in the 12th CGEmpire competition.

More specifically:

Ripe Digital, is making claims that they hold the visual copyrights of the video. This DOES NOT apply! Copyrights to the video, still belong to Ilias Sounas, who has given writen permission for you, me and everyone who took part in the 12th CGEmpire Music Competition, to use the video for your portfolio (as long as there's no financial gain from the video itself).

Ripe Digital "bought" the rights from another company, which didn't hold copyrights, either way.

I've also being contacted regarding this, I disputed the matter to youtube (which didn't get me anything really), but I contacted Ripe Digital straight away, and resolved the matter. I still hold the e-mail exchange, if needed, although I doubt it, that they admit the problem is on their side and not ours.

Advice:
1. Do NOT take your video down.
2. Contact Ripe Digital, giving links to the competition, and my full name (Nikolas Sideris), mentioning that the visual copyrights of "Space Alone", belong to Ilias Sounas, and that you DO have permission to use the video in youtube, as it is!
3. Ask them to remove the copyright claim from your video.

I hope that this will help you avoid any further problems, although I've been contacted more than a month ago, and never had an issue about this really.

Best of luck to all and I'm sorry that such things are happening, but it's totally out of the hands of me, Ilias, CGEmpire or anyone else involved in the competitions, or CGEmpire.

Nikolas

I just got an e-mail from Youtube claiming copyright infringement. I did what you said so hopefully that'll sort it out.

Oh wow, that’s totally copywrong! Thanks for the warning Nikolas, and good luck to any CGImperials who are caught up in this web of treachery.

My entry isn’t actually on YouTube, but I’m tempted to put it up now in support of the others.

Which is even weirder, since I got the appologise from Ripe Digital, after I chassed them and e-mailed them and all that, and they SHOULD know about it, already and stop this automatic search for copyrighted material, since it's NOT copyright to them anyways, but wrongly so they believe.

If anymore people have problems that haven't been resolved let me know and I'll contact them.
